Large antique service of TERRE DE FER earthenware plates & dishes, Chantilly model
Floral blue & vegetal decoration
Terre de Fer is a commercial name for a fine earthenware close to porcelain to which feldspar and kaolin are mixed in order to make it whiter and more resistant It was produced from 1770 and reached its peak in 1900. The main factories are in the North and East of France.
Includes : - 20 Dinner plates (22,5D) of which 16 are in very good condition and 4 with wear & stains,
- 4 Soup plates (22,5D),
- 1 Round platter (27,5D),
- 1 Large covered vegetable dish (21ht x 25D x 33L),
- 1 Small covered vegetable dish (14ht x 20D x 25L),
- 2 Raviers (23L)
And 1 gravy boat (23,5L x 8ht) but stained.
Service in very good general condition, except for a few defects mentioned in detail with the dimensions of the pieces
