Rare blown glass vase - photophore signed by Theodor G. SELLNER, 1983
Colours white, yellow, green and pale grey with gold inclusions
Artist born in 1947 in Bavaria. He learned the glassmaking trade at the Zwiesel Glass School in Germany, then in Murano (Italy) with Aldo Nason, in the United States with Robert Coleman and in Germany. From the 1980s onwards, he was one of the first to create glass sculptures and develop polychrome productions. Since 1974, he has taken part in over 150 exhibitions around the world, notably in Europe, the United States and Japan. His work has been exhibited in private galleries and museums, including London's Victoria and Albert Museum, Tokyo's Seibu Museum, Australia's Wagga-Wagga City Art Gallery, Rouen's Musée des Beaux-Arts, Madrid's Museo de Arte en Vidrio and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
