The varinette is an instrument designed around 1920 by the abbot Jean-Edouard Varin and which was to "dethrone the harmonica". According to an advertisement of 1924, "By singing softly in the varinet without effort or fatigue, everyone, according to his vocal range, produces melodious sounds reminiscent of those of the violin, cello or double bass"
Includes the varinet with its two removable sides to insert and stretch the menbranch, and a paper bag of menbranchs but unusable.
